The ongoing India-Australia Test series has been extremely friendly with players from both teams exchanging chats and smiles in the field. However, day 3 of the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground saw some exchange of words between Rishabh Pant and Matthew Wade which was caught on the stump mic.
Incidentally, the epic conversation between Pant and Australian skipper Tim Paine hogged all the limelight when India toured Down Under in 2018-19. Virat Kohli & Co had scripted history during the tour beating Australia 2-1 in their backyard for the first time ever.
However, this time around, it has been all smiles between the cricketers inside the field. Many former cricketers highlighted the issue with former India fast bowler Zaheer Khan urging the Indian cricketers to pick up some fight in the light of their defeats in the ODIs. Meanwhile, a glimpse of previous India-Australia fierce rivalry was on display when Mitchell Starc gave Ravindra Jadeja a fiery send-off after getting him out with a nasty bouncer.
Rishabh Pant- Matthew Wade engaged in banter
The second innings of Australia witnessed some exchange of words between Indian wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant and Australian opener Matthew Wade. They were continuously at each other as Wade is known for not shying away from challenges. The Aussie cricketer asked if Pant if he was looking at himself on the big screen again. Wade has been hammering Pant about his weight for quite some time now and the young wicket-keeper batsman was also heard giving it back to the batsman.
“He, He, Heyyy,” Rishabh Pant said after Matthew Wade played a backfoot defence shot.
“He, He, Heyyy!! You looking at yourself on the big screen yet,” Matthew Wade came up with an epic reply.

Earlier in the game, Rishabh Pant perfectly plotted Matthew Wade’s dismissal with Ravichandran Ashwin. The youngster read Wade’s mind and forced him to play a rash shot inducing a top edge to Ravindra Jadeja.
Meanwhile, Australia are currently 66 runs behind as they go to tea at 65 for two with Wade and Steve Smith in the middle.
