Watch – Rishabh Pant Sweats It Out At Gym Ahead Of Boxing Day Test

Team India wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant was unlucky to miss out of the team sheet for the pink-ball contest against Australia in Adelaide. However, a poor outing from Wriddhiman Saha has once again put Pant back in the scheme of things and the cricketer is leaving no stones unturned to make the opportunity count.

Meanwhile, Pant was coming back from a fluent century he struck in the second warm-up game against Australia A. He was unbeaten at 103 from just 70-odd deliveries taking the Aussie attack for cleaners. In the wake of it, Rishabh Pant’s absence from the team sheet left everyone baffled. But as things look now, the youngster will make a comeback in the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Rishabh Pant spends time in the gym

Apart from inconsistency with the bat, Pant fitness has been under the spotlight. In the latest turn of events, the cricketer from Delhi was seen doing squats with the dumbbell in his hands. It looks like the 23-year-old has been involved in strenuous gym sessions to gear up for the upcoming high profile Test.

Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant was a part of the last Test series against New Zealand before the lockdown was enforced due to the coronavirus pandemic. Inconsistent turnouts and irresponsible batting cost his place in the playing XI across the formats. But back to Australia where he smacked a brilliant century when India toured Australia in 20181-9, Pant will look to replicate that form.

Speaking about the Indian team, they are likely to make an array of changes following his disastrous run in the first Test where they lost to Australia by eight wickets. They will miss the service of regular skipper Virat Kohli, who will be travelling back to India and Mohammed Shami, who has been ruled out of the entire series owing to a fractured arm.
