Watch – Rishabh Pant Throws Away His Wicket As Delhi Capitals Struggle Against Kings XI Punjab

The same script continues for Rishabh Pant. The young wicket-keeper batsman once again threw his wicket after getting set during Delhi Capitals IPL 2020 opener against Kings XI Punjab. Meanwhile, Delhi are in all sorts of trouble after a batting collapse.

Mohammed Shami made full use of the conditions after KL Rahul won the toss and asked Delhi to bat. Openers Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw struggled to find their timing before Shami struck. The India international bowled a timely bouncer as Dhawan attempted a pool shot but couldn’t go past KL Rahul.

Although Rahul dropped the catch but used his brains to get Dhawan run out. The misery continued as Shaw also threw away his wicket before an error from Shimron Hetmyer cost Delhi their third. The Shreyas Iyer-led side was reeling at 13 for three in four overs with all sorts of problems on their shoulder.

But skipper and Rishabh Pant combined well to bail out the innings. They took measured risks and put the odd deliveries to the boundary. However, when thing started to look good for Delhi, Rishabh Pant threw his wicket away to put his side in danger once again.

Rishabh Pant throws his wicket again

Debutant Ravi Bishnoi bowled the wrong ‘un under pressure and got it to spin away outside off. Pant tried to do an encore, didn’t sort of get into a good position and moreover had to fetch it from outside off. And finally, he ended up dragging it onto the stumps via an inside edge.

Bishnoi is upbeat as he scalps his maiden IPL wicket. A crucial wicket for Punjab as Rishabh Pant – the dangerman departs.

Struggling at 86 for four, Delhi needed a big innings from their skipper Shreyas Iyer. But he followed the pack soon as Mohammed Shami continued with his brilliance. The fast bowler from Bengal finished his quota with three for 15 in his four overs.

Axar Patel also went back soon as Sheldon Cottrell picked his maiden IPL wicket. All eyes will be on all-rounder Marcus Stoinis as Delhi Capitals look to finish on a high.
