[WATCH]- Rishabh Pant Undergoes Rigorous Gym Training In Preparation For IPL 2024

Indian wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant is putting in significant effort in the gym to prepare for the upcoming Indian Premier League season. The left-hander has been out of action for over a year following serious injuries from a car accident in December 2022. His eagerly awaited return to the cricket field is set for IPL 2024.

Pant is set to captain the Delhi Capitals in this year’s tournament, but it remains uncertain whether he will take on the wicketkeeping duties. On Tuesday (February 27), he shared a sneak peek of his training regimen on his official Instagram account. You can watch the video here:

“Maybe he won’t be the usual Rishabh Pant that we are used to seeing” – Sunil Gavaskar in anticipation of IPL 2024

Ex-Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar has conveyed his enthusiasm to witness Rishabh Pant’s return to the field. Nevertheless, the cricket legend advised fans to temper their expectations, considering Pant’s comeback after a prolonged break.

During a Star Sports event in Ranchi, where he engaged with students from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Gavaskar’s remarks were reported by the Times of India.

“He certainly has the ability to think on his feet. If he gets back to full fitness, the reins of (Delhi Capitals) captaincy should be handed over to him. Let’s stay hopeful.”

”This season is the first of his coming back to full fitness. Let’s not rush him into doing something that there will be a setback. Knee plays a pivotal role in batting as well as keeping – which, of course, he may not do initially.”

Gavaskar continued:

“Maybe he won’t be the usual Rishabh Pant that we are used to seeing. I’m also a big fan of him. For me, the most important thing is that he should be healthy like before so that he can come and entertain us.”

”It will be very difficult for him and it will take some time for him to get that batting fluency. But good that he has started training.”

The Delhi Capitals will kick off their IPL 2024 campaign on March 23, facing Punjab Kings in Mohali.
