Delhi Capitals (DC) Rishabh Pant was recently spotted playing football with head coach Ricky Ponting’s son Fletcher. The 24-year-old wicket-keeper batter had some fun in the training before their crucial tie against SunRisers Hyderabad.
The Delhi franchise shared the video on their official social media handles. Pant was seen showing off his football skills despite some tough defence from Fletcher. Towards the end of the video, Fletcher can also be seen hitting a long ball, which left the Rishabh Pant impressed.
“Just two friends vibing over football. We can’t get enough of #RP17 and Fletcher Ponting playing together #TATAIPL #IPL #DelhiCapitals @RishabhPant17,” Delhi Capitals captioned the video.

Rishabh Pant’s record in IPL 2022
The cricketer from Delhi has had a mixed outing so far in IPL 2022 with the bat managing only 234 runs in his eight innings with his best being a quick fiery knock of 44 in their last outing. Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals will be facing Sunrisers Hyderabad in their next game at the Brabourne Stadium on Thursday.
The Capitals would be hoping their captain hits form and guides their team to victory over a confident Hyderabad unit who are showing that they shouldn’t be written off the playoff race due to early failures in the starting matches of the IPL campaign.
With only four wins from nine matches, the Delhi franchise are reeling at the seventh spot in the points table and need to return to the winning ways before the road to the 2nd round becomes tougher for them.
Delhi Capitals are one of the few franchises who are yet to lift the elusive title in the last 14 years. Rishabh Pant and Co. will hope to end their barren run in the premier T20 championship this year.
