Star Team India batsman Rohit Sharma was seen copying veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh’s bowling during the ongoing first Test against England at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The visitors have taken a firm grip on the match banking on skipper Joe Root’s double century.
Meanwhile, Joe Root started the second day in the same tone where he left on day 1. The addition of Ben Stokes made sure that the runs came quickly and the scoreboard kept rotating. Stokes was the attacker of the two taking on Shahbaz Nadeem and Washington Sundar as England’s total kept mounting on.
India started the second session with a pacer from one end and Shahbaz Nadeem from the other, but they could not break the Root-Stokes partnership. It was only broken by Stokes’ aggressive approach as he miscued a slog sweep and perished to Nadeem.

Ollie Pope came in and looked a bit fidgety but has since settled down and added a 50+ stand with his skipper. And Joe Root has just been himself, going about his business and reaching his fifth double hundred along the way. The shoulders have started to drop off for the hosts and the introduction of Rohit Sharma towards the end suggested that the bowlers are also tired. England once again dominated by Root and Co. as they scored 99 runs for the loss of Stokes.
Rohit Sharma copies Harbhajan Singh
Just at the stroke of tea, Virat Kohli handed the ball to Rohit Sharma to give his regular bowler some break after a tiring day at work. Initially, Rohit started with his traditional round-arm action but then resorted to Harbhajan Singh’s bowling action in the last ball before the umpires called for the tea.
