[WATCH]- Rohit Sharma Frustrated After Dismissal To Mitchell Starc For 73

Mitchell Starc claimed the prized wicket of a well-set Rohit Sharma during the second ODI between India and Australia at Adelaide on Thursday, October 23. The left-arm pacer dismissed Rohit for 73 runs off 97 balls, an innings that included two sixes and seven boundaries. Starc’s breakthrough ended the 118-run third-wicket partnership between Rohit and Shreyas Iyer in the 30th over.

Bowling a short delivery, Starc drew Rohit into a pull shot, which was comfortably caught by Hazlewood at long leg. The former Indian captain appeared frustrated as he was unable to convert his solid start into a century, falling short of the triple-figure milestone. You can watch the video here:

For the second consecutive match in the three-game series, Mitchell Starc got the better of Rohit Sharma, having earlier dismissed him caught behind for 8 in the series opener. Despite this, Rohit registered his 59th ODI half-century, marking his fifth in Australia and his tenth against the Australians.

The 38-year-old also reached a milestone of 150 sixes in SENA countries, with a breakdown of 55 in Australia, 48 in England, 31 in New Zealand, and 16 in South Africa.

Rohit Sharma And Shreyas Iyer Rescue India After Early Losses

Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer steadied India after skipper Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli were dismissed cheaply for 9 and 0, respectively, in the second ODI against Australia. Alongside Rohit, vice-captain Iyer also reached a well-earned half-century.

At the time of writing, India were 143/3 after 31.1 overs, with Iyer unbeaten on 56 off 72 balls and Axar Patel on 2 off 5. Xavier Bartlett has been the standout bowler, claiming two wickets in a single over. India trail 0-1 in the three-match series, having lost the first ODI by seven wickets under the DLS method.

A victory in this match would keep India in contention and set up a thrilling series decider in Sydney on Saturday, October 25.
