[WATCH]- Rohit Sharma Gives Stern Look As Security Stops Young Fan Before AUS vs IND 2025 Series

Former India captain Rohit Sharma lost his cool at a security guard who tried to stop a young fan from approaching him during a practice session in Mumbai. The 38-year-old was training at the iconic Shivaji Park when the incident occurred. Former batting coach Abhishek Nayar was also present and had requested fans to keep a reasonable distance from the star batter.

Despite the instruction, one security personnel went too far and attempted to push away a young fan eager to meet Rohit. The senior cricketer was clearly displeased with the guard’s behaviour and signaled for him to let the fan come forward. You can watch the video here:

Rohit is currently gearing up for the upcoming ODI series in Australia, which begins on October 19. The star batter was recently replaced by Shubman Gill as the ODI captain. Despite guiding India to victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup, Rohit has already stepped away from both T20I and Test cricket.

“2025 Champions Trophy win isn’t about just one or two years of effort”- Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma was honored at the CEAT Cricket Awards in Mumbai for guiding Team India to the 2025 Champions Trophy title in the UAE. Notably, the tournament marked his final campaign as India’s ODI captain, and the team remained unbeaten throughout the event. The 38-year-old played a crucial role in the final against New Zealand, scoring a superb 76 from 83 balls.

Speaking about the victory during the ceremony, Rohit Sharma stated (as quoted by News18):

“Look, I love that team, loved playing with them, and it’s a journey that we were all into for many years. It’s not about one year or two years of work. It was about getting into work from many years. We’d come so close to winning that trophy many times, but we couldn’t just get over the line. That is where everyone decided that we need to do something different, and there are two (ways) to look at it.”

He further concluded:

“There’s always a thought of doing that and then actually going and doing that. It cannot be done by one or two players. We needed everyone to buy into that thought, which was good from everyone.”
