[WATCH] Rohit Sharma Meets Fans In Adelaide Before BGT 3rd Test

India‘s ODI and Test captain, Rohit Sharma, interacted with fans in Adelaide on December 10, posing for photos and signing autographs. The 37-year-old had missed the first BGT 2024-25 Test due to the birth of his son, Ahaan, on November 15.

Rohit returned for the second Test, batting in the middle order after six years to preserve the successful opening duo of Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul, who had shared a record 201-run stand in the first Test.

However, his comeback was disappointing, with scores of 3 and 6, as India faced a 10-wicket loss, levelling the series 1-1. Before the third Test, the Mumbai batter was seen meeting fans at the team hotel in Adelaide, posing for photos and signing autographs.

The third Test of the 2024-25 BGT will commence on Saturday, December 14, at The Gabba in Brisbane.

Rohit Sharma has faced challenges in Test cricket this year

In the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT), Rohit Sharma returned for the second Test after missing the first due to personal reasons. Batting at No. 6, he struggled to make an impact, scoring just 3 and 6 in two innings.

His performance has been underwhelming, and his form in Test cricket throughout 2024 has been a concern. As the series is tied 1-1, Rohit and the Indian team are preparing for the crucial third Test at Brisbane, where he is expected to continue batting in the middle order.

Rohit Sharma has struggled in 2024, scoring just 597 runs in 12 matches at an average of 27.13. Over his last 12 Test innings, he has managed only 142 runs with one half-century, lowering his career average from 45.46 to 41.54.

Despite his middle-order experiment in the second BGT Test not yielding results, Rohit is likely to continue in that position. Fans remain optimistic, as he has excelled at No. 6 in the past, scoring 1,046 runs in 27 innings at an average of 49.81.
