As the hype around the much-awaited India vs Pakistan clash was already building, Rohit suddenly became part of the conversation on social media. In the viral clip, Rohit is seen at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Airport with his wife Ritika Sajdeh, seemingly getting ready to fly out.

With the high-voltage match just days away, many fans quickly started guessing that he might be heading to Sri Lanka. The timing of the video has made the speculation even stronger. Even though Rohit is no longer the captain, he remains closely connected to the tournament as one of the official brand ambassadors of the T20 World Cup.

Here is the video:

He was recently seen carrying the T20 World Cup trophy during India’s opening match against the USA at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. It’s the same trophy he lifted in 2024 after leading India to a historic win over South Africa in Barbados, ending an 11-year wait for an ICC title.

For many fans, the idea of Rohit being at another India vs Pakistan match brings back memories. The last time he played against Pakistan was in the 2025 Champions Trophy, when India won thanks to a memorable century by Virat Kohli.

The airport video doesn’t confirm where Rohit is headed, but that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating as excitement builds for one of cricket’s biggest matches.

The Big Reason Everyone’s Talking About India vs Pakistan

India vs Pakistan is back, as always, cutting through all the politics and controversies to remain the T20 World Cup’s biggest and most exciting matchup. Sunday’s game in Colombo features both teams unbeaten, each sitting on four points. India lead Group A thanks to a better net run rate, with Pakistan close behind in second place.

With a spot in the Super Eight and the top of the group at stake, the pressure is already huge. India started their campaign with a 29-run win over the USA under captain Suryakumar Yadav, followed by a commanding 93-run victory against Namibia.

Pakistan, on the other hand, narrowly beat the Netherlands in their opener and then comfortably defeated the USA, with Sahibzada Farhan starring. Now, all attention turns to Colombo, where the fierce rivalry takes centre stage once again.

India go into the match as favourites, boosted by strong form, team balance, and recent dominance in this fixture. The T20 World Cup record makes their case even stronger: India have won seven of the eight matches against Pakistan on this stage so far. Pakistan will be eager to change that narrative and script a new chapter in this classic rivalry.
