[WATCH] Rohit Sharma Suffers Injury Scare Ahead Of T20 World Cup Semi-Final

Team India skipper Rohit Sharma has suffered an injury scare ahead of Thursday’s T20 World Cup semi-final against England at the Adelaide Oval. The right-handed copped an injury while batting in the nets as the Men in Blue gear up for the all-important semi-final clash.

He was batting against India’s throwdown specialist. The ball nipped back in and hit his forearm after which Rohit immediately asked for medical attention. After some treatment, he tried facing up for one ball but walked out of the net.

Later, Rohit Sharma was seen sitting on the sidelines with an ice box and received further treatment. Mental conditioning coach Paddy Upton then spoke to Rohit at length. After a brief period of monitoring, Rohit tried to take strike again but left the session mid-way.

Meanwhile, the extent of the injury was not known and usually, no official statement is made expected till the medical team goes through a thorough investigation. The atmosphere though, remained rather relaxed and calm even as Rohit Sharma was treated on the sidelines.

Rohit Sharma returns to action after a short break

Much to the relief of fans, Rohit Sharma returned to the nets after almost a 30 minutes break. He resumed batting and appeared in full flow. He batted for almost 15 minutes without looking in any discomfort whatsoever. The right-handed batter was also seen playing his trademark pull shot.

Rohit has been short of runs in this tournament, scoring only one half-century in five games so far. He will desperate to fire all cylinders against a star-studded England side as India look to lay their hands on the elusive T20 World Cup trophy after 15 years.
