Rohit Sharma, one of India’s leading cricket stars, paid a visit to the sacred Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati on Monday along with Tilak Varma. The duo sought divine blessings ahead of Mumbai Indians’ important Indian Premier League 2026 match against Rajasthan Royals.

The visit by the “Hitman,” who has been in impressive form lately, generated considerable buzz among fans, with many expecting another strong performance from their star opener. The former Indian captain stepped away from the team’s practice session to make the trip to the temple, situated on the Nilachal Hills.

Known as one of India’s most significant Shakti Peeths, the temple attracts devotees from all over the country. Rohit was seen offering prayers and performing rituals amid tight security, as large crowds gathered nearby hoping to catch a glimpse of the cricketing icon.

Rohit Sharma leads Mumbai Indians with consistent form

Rohit Sharma has played a pivotal role in Mumbai Indians’ batting unit this season, with his attacking style drawing appreciation from the coaching staff. His consistent outings have further cemented his importance as the team’s mainstay.

Showing a refreshed approach compared to the previous season, the right-hander made a strong start to Indian Premier League 2026, delivering an impressive performance against three-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders and setting up a comfortable victory for Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium.

However, Rohit Sharma managed only 35 against Delhi Capitals despite getting off to a solid start. Meanwhile, Tilak Varma, a key figure in Mumbai Indians’ middle order, has struggled to find rhythm early in the season. The left-hander was also below his best while representing India in the T20 World Cup 2026.

The left-hander scored only 20 against Kolkata Knight Riders, and in the match against Delhi Capitals, the Hyderabad-born batter was dismissed for a duck, handing a simple return catch to Mukesh Kumar. As the Indian Premier League 2026 moves into its middle stage, Tilak Varma’s poor form is likely to be a growing concern for the five-time champions, Mumbai Indians.
