[WATCH]- Rohit Sharma Travels To Alibaug Before The Border-Gavaskar Trophy Series In Australia

Rohit Sharma, the captain of Team India’s Test and ODI sides, was recently seen in Alibaug in the lead-up to the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy. India and Australia are set to compete for the prestigious trophy in a five-match Test series in Australia.

On Monday, November 11, a video emerged on social media showing Sharma leaving the registration office in Alibaug. The 37-year-old cricketer also took time to pose for photos with the officials at the office.

It is notable that in 2021, Rohit Sharma bought a four-acre plot of land in Alibaug worth ₹9 crore, registered in his wife Ritika Sajdeh’s name. The coastal town has become a sought-after location for celebrities looking to build farmhouses. Last year, former India captain Virat Kohli also purchased a lavish property in Alibaug.

“Will inform you before the series”- Team India head coach addresses Rohit Sharma’s availability for the Test series opener against Australia

Rohit Sharma is expected to become a father for the second time soon, and recent reports indicate that he may not travel with the Indian team to Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy due to this reason. His availability for the Test series opener in Perth remains unclear.

At the pre-departure press conference, India head coach Gautam Gambhir confirmed that if Sharma is unavailable for the opening match, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah will lead the team. Gambhir added that he would provide a definitive update on Sharma’s availability before the series begins, as reported by TOI.

“Bumrah is vice-captain; if Rohit is not available, he is going to be lead in Perth. There is no confirmation on Rohit as of now, hopefully he will play. We will let you know before the series.”

The Indian team is traveling to Australia in two groups. The first group left on Sunday, November 10, and the second group is scheduled to depart on Monday, November 11. The series will begin in Perth on November 22.
