[WATCH] Rohit Sharma unleashes trademark shot during practice in Mumbai ahead of IPL 2026

Veteran batter Rohit Sharma played his trademark pull shot while practicing at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Park Ground in Mumbai. He is preparing for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, which is likely to start on March 28.

On Saturday, March 7, the opening batter trained in the nets ahead of the tournament, where he will play for the Mumbai Indians (MI). A large number of fans gathered at the ground to watch the former India captain practice.

In IPL 2025, Rohit Sharma scored 418 runs in 15 innings. He averaged 29.85 and had a strike rate of 149.28. He hit four half-centuries, with his highest score being 81. Mumbai Indians were knocked out after losing to Punjab Kings in the eliminator, and the team is still chasing its first IPL title since winning it in 2020.

Overall in the IPL, the 38-year-old Rohit has played 272 matches and scored 7,046 runs in 267 innings. He has an average of 29.73 and a strike rate of 132.09. So far, he has scored 47 half-centuries and two centuries, with his highest score being an unbeaten 109.
