"Poke Kroge to mai thodi na chup baithne wala hu...": Rohit Sharma Talks About His Cricketing Journey

Team India skipper Rohit Sharma was seen displaying his trademark curiosity ahead of the second ODI against Australia. The Men in Blue are currently engaged in a three-match ODI series Down Under, having suffered a seven-wicket defeat in the opening encounter at Perth. During a practice session before the second match, Rohit was spotted examining teammate Yashasvi Jaiswal’s bat.

Jaiswal, already padded up for training, engaged in a brief conversation with Rohit. The veteran batter then picked up one of Jaiswal’s bats, took his stance, and began shadow batting to get a feel of it, creating a lighthearted moment on the field. You can watch the video here:

Jaiswal, selected as a backup opener, is unlikely to feature in the remaining games with Rohit and Shubman opening. The second ODI is set for October 23 in Adelaide, followed by the final match in Sydney on October 25. India must win to stay alive in the series.

Rohit Sharma Eyes Strong Comeback In Crucial Adelaide ODI

Rohit Sharma made his return to international cricket after a lengthy break, having last featured in the 2025 Champions Trophy, where he captained India to glory. Following his retirement from Tests and T20Is, the veteran opener now solely represents India in ODIs. However, his comeback didn’t go as planned, as he was dismissed for just eight runs off 14 balls, managing only one boundary in the first ODI at Perth.

With India needing a win in the second match to stay alive in the series, the pressure on Rohit has increased significantly. Beyond the team’s cause, the series also holds personal importance for him, as his performances could determine his place in India’s plans for the 2027 World Cup.

At 38, Rohit will be eager to bounce back and deliver a strong performance in Adelaide. However, he doesn’t boast an impressive record at the venue, having scored only 131 runs in six ODIs at an average of 21.83.
