Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was spotted signaling Virat Kohli to finish with a boundary as Team India closed in on victory against Pakistan in the Champions Trophy 2025 clash at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.
With Rohit’s enthusiastic gesture from the dressing room, Virat Kohli stepped forward and delivered a boundary, sealing a six-wicket win for India. Facing Khushdil Shah in the 43rd over, India needed just four runs to win, while Kohli required the same to complete his century.
Seizing the moment, he stepped out and drove the left-arm spinner through the covers, securing the victory. Moments later, he removed his helmet to celebrate his 51st ODI century, signaling his determination to finish the job for his team.

Earlier, Mohammad Rizwan won the toss and opted to bat in Dubai. Pakistan started well, but India’s bowlers tightened control in the middle overs. Saud Shakeel (62), Rizwan (46), and Khushdil (38) helped them post 241.
“Those in the dressing room weren’t surprised by his performance”- Rohit Sharma on Virat Kohli
At the post-match presentation, Rohit Sharma praised the bowlers for maintaining control despite a strong partnership between Rizwan and Shakeel. He admitted that chasing 242 was challenging but had confidence in the experienced batters to see the team through.
“We started superbly with the ball. We knew wicket could get slower but backed our experienced batters to go out there and get 240. Credit goes to Kuldeep, Axar, Jadeja all who have played a lot.”
“Rizwan and Saud stitched a good stand, was important not to let the game drift. Not to forget how Shami, Hardik, Harshit bowled as well. It was a good performance from the entire unit. Boys understand what kind of job is required out of them. It’s tricky at times because not all will get a bowl.”
“I try to figure out who’s creating the most problems to the batters and make decisions. Virat loves representing the country, doing what he does the best, which is what he did today. People sitting inside the dressing room aren’t surprised with what he did.”
