Rajasthan Royals all-rounder Rovman Powell made a spectacular catch to remove Faf du Plessis from the field during a match between the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and the Rajasthan Royals (RR). The RR are off to a great start in the ongoing IPL 2024 Eliminator at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium against RCB.
After winning the toss, Sanju Samson of the Rajasthan Royals chose to bowl first. In the IPL 2024 Eliminator on Wednesday, they are taking on the highly skilled Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
The Royals, who before appeared headed for the top spot in the league, have experienced a sharp decline in their results, with four straight losses and a washout in their season-ending matchup with the Kolkata Knight Riders. As a result of this slump, Sanju Samson’s club came in third.
Conversely, RCB has pulled off an incredible comeback. Faf du Plessis’ team mounted a remarkable comeback after dropping their first seven games of the season, culminating in a pivotal victory over the reigning champion Chennai Super Kings to guarantee their postseason berth. With six straight victories, RCB’s comeback has made a loud statement to their rivals that they are legitimate title contenders.
A leap of faith is all it takes in the #TATAIPLPlayoffs! 🙌

Rovman Powell did an excellent job:
One brilliant moment that will live on in the annals of IPL history occurred during the nail-biting tension: Rovman Powell’s incredible catch that dismissed RCB skipper Faf du Plessis left the full audience in disbelief and shocked the cricketing world.
The pivotal moment came in the fifth over of RCB’s innings. On 17, Du Plessis attempted an uppercut off Trent Boult’s scorching bouncer, looking menacing. Powell made an incredible grab out of thin air by propelling himself horizontally from mid-off, just as the ball appeared heading for the boundary ropes.
At the time of writing, the enthralling Eliminator match is hanging in the balance, with RCB rebounding to 82/2 after 11 overs.
