[WATCH]- Ruturaj Gaikwad Shows His Wicket-Keeping Prowess In The Maharashtra Premier League 2024

Talented right-handed batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad displayed his wicket-keeping abilities in the Maharashtra Premier League 2024 match between Puneri Bappa and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Kings. This thrilling encounter took place at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on Monday, June 17th.

In the early stages of the game, Gaikwad assumed the role of keeping wickets for Puneri Bappa side and that video became instantly viral on social media sites. The ball was way down the leg side by right-arm fast bowler Vivek Shelar; as a result, Gaikwad had to dive to his right and complete take it with perfection.

By the year 2022, Gaikwad had become a sensation following a viral video of him stumping Sanju Samson in a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match between Maharashtra and Kerala. At present, he is putting up great shows for Puneri Bappa in the Maharashtra Premier League 2024.

He has made seven innings with a total of 290 runs and a strike rate of 168.60, including his highest score of 89. However, his team is currently bottom-placed on the league table having won only three out of nine games played so far.

Ruturaj Gaikwad had a remarkable performance in the IPL 2024 season

For instance, Gaikwad scored 583 runs in fourteen innings at an average of 53 and a strike rate of 141.16. Consequently, Virat Kohli topped the batting charts with 741 runs while he ended up as second top run-getter in that tournament.

Although CSK was defeated by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Gaikwad scored his highest unbeaten knock of 108 from just sixty balls against them. Subsequently, he went on to make another significant contribution scoring ninety eight off fifty-four balls to give CSK a seventy-eight-run victory over SRH.

He was out for a duck in CSK’s important game against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Gaikwad last played a T20I in December 2023 against Australia in Bengaluru, scoring 10 runs from 12 balls. His future return to the Indian team is uncertain.
