Rahul Dravid‘s son, Samit, played a remarkable innings of 98 off 159 balls for Karnataka in a recent Cooch Behar Trophy (U19) match against Jammu & Kashmir in Jammu. A video showcasing highlights from his innings has gained widespread attention on social media.

Samit showcased an impressive performance, hitting 13 fours and a six in his innings of 98, contributing to Karnataka’s victory over Jammu & Kashmir by an innings and 130 runs. A widely shared video on social media highlights some of the attractive shots played by Dravid’s son during the match.

According to a Times Now report, Jammu & Kashmir batted first in the Cooch Behar Trophy match, posting a total of 170 runs. Samit Dravid entered the batting lineup at No. 5 for Karnataka, contributing significantly by forming a partnership of 233 runs for the fourth wicket with Karthikeya KP, who top-scored with 163 off 175 balls.

Thanks to the impressive batting performances from Samit Dravid and Karthikeya, Karnataka declared their first innings at 480/5 in 100 overs. Jammu & Kashmir couldn’t force Karnataka to bat again, leading to their defeat by an innings.

Previously, Dravid and his wife Vijeta were observed attending their son Samit’s Cooch Behar Trophy match against Uttarakhand at the SDNRW Ground in Mysuru. Dravid, having a break from national duty, seized the chance to watch his son play, and a photo of this moment became popular on social media.

Samit contributed scores of 27 and 28 in Karnataka’s prior match against Uttar Pradesh in the Cooch Behar Trophy. Regarding Dravid, he is set to lead the Indian team in the upcoming Test series against South Africa, featuring two matches.

The first, known as the Boxing Day Test, will be held at SuperSport Park in Centurion from December 26 to December 30. The second Test is scheduled for New Year at Newlands, Cape Town, from January 3-7.

Simultaneously, KL Rahul will captain the ODI team in the series decider against South Africa at Boland Park in Paarl on December 21.
