Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Ishan Kishan narrowly missed a deserved century as Rajasthan Royals pacer Sandeep Sharma avoided a dangerous collision with teammate Dhruv Jurel during their Indian Premier League 2026 clash on April 13 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
The breakthrough came in the 14th over when Sandeep delivered a length ball. Kishan attempted a pull shot but mistimed it high into the air. The bowler moved towards the wicketkeeper Jurel and completed the catch, with both players carefully avoiding a collision.
Kishan was dismissed for 91 off 44 balls, ending a strong 88-run partnership with Heinrich Klaasen. His impressive knock featured six sixes and eight fours. Watch the video here
Ishan Kishan had earlier scored an unbeaten century against Rajasthan Royals last season. The 27-year-old also played a blistering knock of 80 off 38 balls against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the opening match of the 2026 season.
Prior to that, he was India’s second-highest run-scorer in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, amassing 317 runs in nine innings at a strike rate of 193.29, including three half-centuries.
Rajasthan Royals strike twice to dent Sunrisers Hyderabad
Sandeep Sharma and Tushar Deshpande dismissed Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen respectively, helping Rajasthan Royals stage a comeback against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their Indian Premier League 2026 clash. Deshpande was particularly effective, removing Klaasen for 40 off 26 balls, which included three sixes and a four.
Earlier, Jofra Archer and Riyan Parag had already put SRH on the back foot by dismissing openers Abhishek Sharma for 0 (1) and Travis Head for 18 off 18 balls. RR, the Jaipur-based side, remain unbeaten in their first four matches this season and will aim to extend their winning run.
In contrast, SRH have managed just one win in their last four outings and are coming off a loss where they failed to defend 219 against Punjab Kings.
