India wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson had a touching exchange with fans in Delhi ahead of the Men in Blue’s second Group A fixture at the T20 World Cup 2026. India will face Namibia later today, Thursday, February 12, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
On the eve of the encounter, as Samson was heading out after a training session, a few supporters were recording the Kerala star when he jokingly remarked:
“Kya haal chal hai?” [How are things going?]
Later in the clip, a fan encouraged the opening batter to notch a century in the forthcoming match, saying:
“Sanju bhaiya kal ke match mai shatak marna hai aapko.” [Sanju bhaiya, you have to score a century in tomorrow’s match]

Sanju Samson May Feature vs Namibia Amid Abhishek Fitness Woes
After being sidelined for India’s opening T20 World Cup match against the USA on February 7 at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, a game India won by 29 runs, the 31-year-old remains in contention for the Delhi clash due to concerns over Abhishek Sharma’s fitness.
Sanju Samson has been managing a stomach infection, causing him to miss several crucial practice sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday ahead of the Namibia game. A final decision on his participation will be made just before the match, taking into account his recovery and fitness levels.
Meanwhile, on February 11, Ishan Kishan was accidentally hit on his left toe by a Jasprit Bumrah yorker during practice and showed signs of discomfort. He, however, returned to the nets and quickly resumed batting after a brief break.
Ishan is anticipated to take the field despite the minor setback, but Abhishek’s status is unclear. If he cannot play, Sanju is likely to be included in India’s lineup against Namibia.
