Team India all-rounder Hardik Pandya dismissed Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman, with Sanju Samson taking a sharp low catch in their Asia Cup 2025 Super 4 match at Dubai International Stadium on Sunday. Samson moved forward to complete the catch, which was later confirmed by the third umpire after a brief review.
The wicket fell in the third over when Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav brought Pandya into the attack for his second spell. Zaman, looking threatening, drove the second ball from Pandya for a boundary. However, Pandya cleverly bowled a slower delivery, deceiving the left-handed batter, who edged it to Samson behind the stumps.
Zaman appeared frustrated by the third umpire’s decision, striking his bat against his pad as he made his way back to the pavilion.

Sanju Samson Leads Team India’s Batting Against Oman In Asia Cup 2025
Meanwhile, Sanju Samson, making his first appearance with the bat in the ongoing multi-nation tournament, top-scored for India against Oman at Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Stadium. The Kerala-born batter scored 56 off 45 balls, helping India post a total of 188/8. Despite a determined effort from Oman, they fell 21 runs short, allowing the Men in Blue to remain unbeaten in the group stage.
Earlier, Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and chose to field first, citing Dubai’s favorable conditions for chasing. The Indian captain also made two changes, bringing in Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakravarthy in place of Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana. At the time of writing, Oman had reached 91/1, looking set for a competitive total. India had previously defeated their arch-rivals by seven wickets during the group stage.
