Lahore Qalandars presented their captain, Shaheen Afridi, with a 24K Gold-Plated iPhone 16 Pro during the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL). The gesture took place on Easter Day (April 20), adding a special touch to the occasion. Gifting players has become a trend in the PSL, with teams like Karachi Kings previously giving out items like hairdryers and trimmers.
Afridi’s teammates were visibly impressed as he unboxed the luxurious gift in their presence. The Lahore Qalandars’ official X handle shared a video of the moment:

A thrilled Shaheen Afridi described the gift as “heavy,” while teammate Haris Rauf jokingly remarked “Unfair,” possibly hinting at the skipper receiving special treatment from the management. On the field, Lahore Qalandars have had a solid start to their 2025 PSL campaign, winning two of their first three matches.
They began with an eight-wicket defeat against Islamabad United but quickly rebounded with back-to-back victories over the Quetta Gladiators and Karachi Kings. The Qalandars currently sit second on the points table, just behind the undefeated Islamabad United.
Shaheen Afridi Finds Top Gear After Quiet Start To PSL 2025
Shaheen Afridi has been leading the charge with the ball in Lahore Qalandars’ recent back-to-back victories, following a disappointing performance in their season opener. The 25-year-old went wicketless in the loss to Islamabad United, giving away 38 runs in his four overs.
He made a strong comeback with an economical spell of 2/6 in two overs during the Qalandars’ 79-run triumph over the Quetta Gladiators. Afridi continued his fine form in the latest win against Karachi Kings, claiming 3/34 in four overs.
His overall figures in the 2025 PSL so far include five wickets at an average of 15.60 and an economy rate of 7.80 across three matches. Lahore Qalandars are set to face the Multan Sultans next on Tuesday, April 22. After winning back-to-back titles in 2022 and 2023, they exited in the group stage last season.
