Shardul Thakur showcased exceptional fielding skills by grabbing a high catch to send Nicholas Pooran packing during the IPL 2024 clash between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Pooran, who scored 34 runs off 15 balls, was dismissed in the 17th over of the innings. The catch was taken at long-off as Pooran attempted a big shot off Matheesha Pathirana’s delivery, but ended up mistiming it, allowing Shardul to seize the opportunity under pressure.

What occurred during the CSK vs LSG IPL 2024 game?

Marcus Stoinis’ clinical batting performance led LSG to a six-wicket victory over CSK in the IPL match on Tuesday. This win marked Lucknow’s consecutive triumphs over the defending champions this season. CSK, batting first, posted a total of 210/4 in their allotted 20 overs. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad spearheaded the innings with an unbeaten 108 off 60 balls, including three sixes and 12 boundaries.

Shivam Dube contributed a rapid 66 off 27 deliveries, featuring seven sixes and three boundaries. Together, they forged a formidable 104-run partnership for the fourth wicket. LSG’s Matt Henry, Mohsin Khan, and Yash Thakur each claimed one wicket. The Super Giants successfully chased down the target with three balls remaining.

Marcus Stoinis remained not out on 124 from 63 balls, guiding his team to victory. His innings included six sixes and 13 boundaries.  Nicholas Pooran contributed 34 runs from 15 balls, while Deepak Hooda added an unbeaten 17 from 6 deliveries. Matheesha Pathirana claimed two wickets, with Deepak Chahar and Mustafizur Rahman each taking one scalp.

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are set to take on the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on April 28th.
