Watch: Shimron Hetmyer Cheers Up The Atmosphere By Imitating Umpire’s Actions On Field

Shimron Hetmyer

The 2021 season of the Pakistan Super League(PSL) has now resumed in Abu Dhabi and various players across the globe are plying their trade in the same. In one of the PSL matches that took place between Multan Sultans and Karachi Kings, West Indies batsman Shimron Hetmyer appeared in a fun mood. Hetmyer was seen imitating Aleem Dar’s actions before he could signal a player out.

The event happened during the 3rd ball of the 12th over of Karachi’s innings in the game between the two teams. Imran Tahir caught Najibullah Zadran in front of the stumps. Though Aleem Dar signalled the batsman out, the batsman decided to go for a review.

Shimron Hetmyer becomes the umpire

Before umpire Aleem Dar could raise his finger, Shimron Hetmyer stepped in and copied his actions. The umpire also seemed happy and was seen smiling.

Talking about the match, Sultans were invited to bat first after losing the toss. They posted 176/5 in 20 overs where Rilee Rossouw and Khushdil Shad added good 44 runs each from their end. In the answer, Karachi Kings’ skipper Babar Azam smashed 85 runs but it couldn’t serve the entire purpose for them. They fell short of 12 runs and their show got wrapped up on 164/7.

Imran Khan and Imran Tahir picked three and two wickets respectively in the game. Roussouw was declared as the player of the match.

The winning skipper Mohammad Rizwan praised his team and said they focused on just winning without worrying about things that were not in their control.

“ Every team tries to win, and the toss is not in our hands, so we didn’t think about the uncontrollable, so we just gave our best and ended up on the winning side. We tried deciding according to the conditions – 4 pacers, and 1 spinner, and we’ll keep deciding according to the conditions in the future matches,” said the winning skipper Mohammad Rizwan after the match.
