India batter Shreyas Iyer and England all-rounder Sam Curran were involved in a fiery on-field exchange during the second ODI between India and England at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, on Thursday, July 16. The incident occurred during India’s innings when Curran appeared to throw the ball towards Iyer after the completion of a play.

The gesture did not sit well with the Indian batter, leading to a heated verbal exchange between the two players as tensions briefly flared on the field. Shreyas Iyer and Sam Curran were seen exchanging heated words in the middle of the ground, with the Indian batter visibly frustrated by the incident.

Iyer immediately responded to Curran, and the two continued their verbal altercation for a brief period as tempers flared. Although the confrontation remained limited to a war of words, it added another layer of intensity to the high-stakes ODI in Cardiff. The fiery exchange between Iyer and Curran has since gone viral across social media platforms.

After missing out in the first ODI, Shreyas Iyer bounced back in style with a brilliant half-century, steering India past the 200-run mark. Following the early dismissals of Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Ishan Kishan, Iyer combined with Virat Kohli to forge a crucial 60-plus-run partnership, helping India recover from a shaky start in the second ODI against England in Cardiff.

Indian Batting Suffers Dramatic Collapse Against England

England pacer Jofra Archer turned the tide of the match with a fiery spell at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, using his pace and precision to put India on the back foot. The speedster struck off successive deliveries, triggering a dramatic collapse in the visitors’ innings.

Axar Patel was the first to fall after edging an attempted upper-cut off a short delivery to the wicketkeeper. On the very next ball, Shivam Dube drove the ball straight back to Archer, who completed a straightforward return catch to dismiss him for a golden duck.

India’s innings unraveled rapidly as they slumped from 178/3 to 193/7, losing four wickets in quick succession. A series of rash strokes proved costly, allowing England to seize complete control of the contest.
