Shardul Thakur strikes twice in one over as MI bounce back against PBKS in IPL 2026 clash

Shardul Thakur picked up two big wickets in the same over by dismissing Prabhsimran Singh and Shreyas Iyer, helping Mumbai Indians make a comeback against Punjab Kings in the IPL 2026 clash. Prabhsimran played an attacking knock of 57 runs off 32 balls, hitting four sixes and six fours. Earlier, Priyansh Arya scored 22 off 17 balls, while Cooper Connolly added 21 off 22 before being dismissed by Deepak Chahar and Raj Bawa respectively.

At the time of writing, Punjab were 116/4 in 12.5 overs, with Suryansh Shedge and Shashank Singhbatting in the middle. MI have already been knocked out of the IPL 2026 playoff race, but they will be hoping to hurt Punjab’s chances of finishing in the top two. The team is missing regular captain Hardik Pandya due to a niggle, while Suryakumar Yadav is unavailable for personal reasons. Because of this, Jasprit Bumrah is leading the side.

Meanwhile, PBKS are desperate to avoid a fifth straight defeat after losing to Rajasthan Royals, Gujarat Titans, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Delhi Capitals in their previous four matches. In their last game at the same venue, they could not defend a total of 210 against Delhi.
