Indian Batsman Shreyas Iyer couldn’t resist the chance to provide some respite to the kids observing from the other side of the boundary on a scorching day with temperatures topping 32 degrees Celsius and humidity around 75%. Upon spotting them during practice, he approached the children while subtly concealing bottles of cold beverages within his T-shirt.

Around 12:30 PM, Iyer and teammate Prithvi Shaw were fielding at slip when the incident happened. He made his way over to the kids, gave them the drinks, and encouraged them to have fun while getting the refreshments from a neighbouring cart. It’s hot, so stay lighthearted, he said.

Iyer thought of the poor kids who were suffering from the heat and decided to give them a cold drink by hiding it under the practice equipment. His kind deed has gone viral on the internet. Iyer too had to deal with the heat in the stadium.
