Star Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer signed a fan’s ‘Sarpanch Saab’ poster during the T20 Mumbai 2025 league, where he is representing the SoBo Mumbai Falcons. Iyer arrived at the venue in a jeep, and a few enthusiastic fans approached the vehicle holding up a poster with the phrase ‘Sarpanch Saab’.
Though he remained inside the car, Iyer obliged by autographing the poster. The nickname ‘Sarpanch Saab’, meaning “leader,” was popularly associated with him during the IPL 2025 season, where he captained the Punjab Kings (PBKS). You can watch the video here:

The SoBo Mumbai Falcons will face off against the Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals in the final of the T20 Mumbai League 2025 on Thursday, June 12, at the Wankhede Stadium. Shreyas Iyer is captaining the Falcons in this tournament.
Shreyas Iyer Leads Team To Second Consecutive T20 Final As Captain
As mentioned earlier, Shreyas Iyer‘s SoBo Mumbai Falcons are all set to compete in the final of the T20 Mumbai League 2025. This marks his second straight appearance in a T20 final as captain. Just recently, he led Punjab Kings (PBKS) to the IPL 2025 final.
Although PBKS fell short in the final against eventual champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Shreyas earned praise for both his leadership and batting performance. PBKS finished at the top of the points table with nine wins and 19 points.
Despite losing the first qualifier to RCB, they bounced back to defeat Mumbai Indians in the second qualifier to reach the final. Individually, Shreyas had a remarkable season with the bat—scoring 604 runs in 17 matches at an average of 50.33 and an impressive strike rate of 175.07, including six fifties.
It was his most prolific IPL season to date, as he crossed the 600-run mark in a single edition for the first time. Iyer continues to showcase his leadership strength in white-ball cricket, having now guided three different teams to T20 finals—KKR to the 2024 IPL title, PBKS to the 2025 final, and SoBo Mumbai Falcons to the 2025 T20 Mumbai League final.
