Shreyas Iyer, the current leader of KKR who are the champions of the IPL, also had a good performance while handling the batting. After India’s defeat in the test series in England followed by his absence from domestic competition, he was omitted from the BCCI’s central contracts list for the 2023 World Cup being one of India’s top batsmen during that time.
Meanwhile, the man looks very keen on making the most of his next white-ball tour to Sri Lanka, as he tries so hard to maintain his health. There is a viral video on social platforms wherein, though it is raining heavily in the particular scene, Shreyas Iyer is seen jogging on the track.
Shreyas Iyer remained out of the series equation too, even though he travels outside the restricted Indian squad to be part of the T20 World Cup. The Indians are in Zimbabwe now playing T20Is.
Therefore, it is very much in doubt if he will feature for T20Is in Sri Lanka, but he is fit in the ODI team, and he will be hoping to make his mark in that brand in a bid to make key combinations as the Champions Trophy 2025 comes about.

Middle-order batsman, Shreyas Iyer who has been a part of Team India, is likely to be back in the Indian cricket team, with the new head coach being Gautam Gambhir. The 29-year-old was not given a central contract by the BCCI in February because of his no-show in domestic cricket. The reasons behind such an absence lay in poor communication, although he was central to India’s ODI World Cup 2023 triumph.
Hence, he made 530 runs in total in 11 innings, with an average of 66.25 and a healthy strike rate of 113.24 during last year’s ODI World Cup. Iyer was part of the Indian team in the home Tests against England earlier this year but the talented cricketer was sidelined for the current five Test series being played against Zimbabwe. Taking it online, the practice video was immensely popular on social media platforms.
