Team India’s Test and ODI skipper Shubman Gill was seen at Mumbai airport on Thursday, January 29. The star batter kept it casual, sporting a black T-shirt paired with grey denims. He was also wearing a face mask as he walked out of the terminal and got into his car.
A video capturing Gill’s arrival at the Mumbai airport was shared on the Bollywood Pap King’s Instagram handle. You can watch the video here:

On the cricketing side, Shubman Gill was not selected for the ongoing five-match home T20I series against New Zealand or the 2026 T20 World Cup squad. He recently featured for Punjab in their Ranji Trophy 2025–26 clash against Saurashtra at the Niranjan Shah Stadium C in Rajkot.
Gill endured a disappointing outing in the red-ball fixture, managing scores of 0 and 14, as Saurashtra sealed a comprehensive 194-run win.
Shubman Gill Dropped From India’s T20I Squad After IND vs SA 2025 Series
Shubman Gill made his return to India’s T20I setup after being appointed vice-captain for the 2025 Asia Cup. However, the opener struggled for consistency during the continental event, scoring 127 runs in seven innings at an average of 21.17 and a strike rate of 151.19.
Gill’s standout moment in the Asia Cup came in the Super Fours clash against Pakistan, where he played a fluent 47 off 28 deliveries to help India secure a six-wicket victory. He was India’s second-highest run-scorer in the T20I series against Australia.
Despite that effort, the 26-year-old endured a lean patch in the subsequent five-match home series against South Africa, registering scores of 2, 0 and 28. The fourth match was abandoned without a toss due to heavy fog in Lucknow, while Gill missed the fifth T20I after sustaining a foot injury.
Following the series, Gill was left out of the side, with Sanju Samson preferred as the opener when the selectors announced the squad for the New Zealand home series and the 2026 T20 World Cup. The global tournament is set to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, starting on February 7.
