[WATCH]- Shubman Gill Smashes A Quick Fifty In GT vs CSK IPL 2026 Match

Shubman Gill, captain of Gujarat Titans, scored a quick half-century in style during the IPL 2026 match against Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Thursday, May 21. Gill reached the milestone on the final ball of the seventh over.

Noor Ahmad delivered a fuller ball on middle stump, and the right-hander smashed it over mid-wicket for a six to complete his fifty in just 23 balls. Watch the video of the moment here:

This was Shubman Gill’s sixth fifty of the current season and the 31st half-century of his IPL career, along with four centuries overall.

Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan Fifties Give GT a Strong Start

Ruturaj Gaikwad, captain of Chennai Super Kings, won the toss and chose to bowl first. Openers Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan gave Gujarat Titans a strong start, helping the team reach 62 without losing a wicket at the end of the powerplay.

Gill completed his half-century with a six off Noor Ahmad in the seventh over. The opening pair continued to dominate as GT crossed the 100-run mark on the first ball of the 10th over. Sudharsan also impressed with the bat, reaching his fifty in 35 deliveries.

At the time of writing, GT were 124/0 after 12 overs, with Gill unbeaten on 64 and Sudharsan batting on 51.
