Gujarat Titans’ skipper Shubman Gill showed respect to BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla before the IPL 2025 match against the Rajasthan Royals at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Just before the teams moved towards performing in the match, Gill went up to Shukla and touched his feet for blessings, followed by a small conversation. This act highlights the sportsmanship and etiquette an aspiring cricketer is showing.

The match was played on 9 April, and Rajasthan Royals won the toss and decided to field first. Gill was just back on the early up, but the Gujarat Titans won by a massive 58 runs, with Sai Sudharsan, Jos Buttler, and Shahrukh Khan being the shining stars for them. The win placed GT right on top of the points table, standing with eight points from five games.

Shubman Gill attributes GT’s great start in the IPL 2025 to teamwork

Shubman Gill, captain of the Gujarat Titans (GT), has credited his side’s impressive start in the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) to a team effort in which everyone pitched in.

Gill’s evaluation followed GT’s decisive 58-run victory over Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Wednesday, April 9, at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. In five games this season, it was their fourth victory.

“Good total put up. It was not easy, the first three fours overs, it was nipping. Sai and Jos batted tremendously. We’d take 220 any day,” Gill said at the post-match presentation.

“Our fast bowlers are doing a tremendous job. Everyone is chipping in. If you are having difficulties in choosing the Player of the Match, that is the hallmark of a great team. When you have bowlers like we do, captaincy becomes easy. Whosoever I bring in, they are happy to contribute,” he added.
