[Watch]: ‘Sorry Sorry’ – Akash Deep And Travis Head Share A Funny Moment On Day 5 Of The BGT 2024-25 3rd Test

Akash Deep and Travis Head shared an amusing moment early on the final day (Wednesday, December 18) of the third Border-Gavaskar series Test (BGT) at The Gabba in Brisbane. The incident occurred towards the end of India’s first innings.

In the 78th over, bowled by Nathan Lyon, Akash Deep, a tail-ender, defended the ball with his leg, causing it to roll onto his pad. While the Australians made a light appeal, Travis Head, stationed at short-leg, anticipated Akash would pass him the ball.

However, instead of handing the ball to Head, Akash dropped it on the ground, prompting an annoyed stare from Head, who bent down to pick it up. Akash quickly apologized before getting ready for the next delivery.

“Sorry, sorry.”

Akash Deep played a vital knock as India’s last batter. His batting efforts helped the visitors avoid the follow-on and potentially prevented a loss.

Travis Head took the wicket of Akash Deep to end India’s first innings in the 3rd BGT Test

Travis Head’s part-time spin was introduced in the next over, and he needed just five balls to break the final-wicket partnership between Akash Deep and Jasprit Bumrah. Akash lunged forward to defend but missed the ball, dragging his foot slightly.

Wicketkeeper Alex Carey quickly stumped him, ending India’s innings. Akash made 31 runs off 44 balls, contributing 47 runs for the last wicket. India were bowled out for 260, leaving them with a 185-run deficit. However, there isn’t enough time left for Australia to enforce a result.

As of now, play has been suspended due to a lightning threat, and the players are back in the dressing room as Australia’s second innings is yet to resume.
