[WATCH]- Spectacular Light Display Captivates Hyderabad Audience During Rain Delay in SRH vs GT IPL 2024 Game

Fans were treated to a dazzling light show during the rain delay in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Thursday, May 16.

The persistent rain caused a delay in the toss, marking GT’s final match of the season. The cut-off time for a 5-over game is 10:30 pm IST. Notably, a washout would aid the Sunrisers in qualifying for the playoffs. You can watch the video here:

Earlier this season, the two teams clashed at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where the Titans secured their inaugural victory over SRH, winning by seven wickets on March 31.

However, GT has been eliminated from the playoffs contention. Their recent IPL match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) was also abandoned due to rain. Shubman Gill’s team currently occupies the eighth position in the points table, with five victories in 13 matches.

Meanwhile, SRH holds the fourth position in the points table, having garnered seven victories (14 points) in 12 matches. Their final league match will be against Punjab Kings in Hyderabad on Sunday (May 19).

Pat Cummins transformed SRH’s luck in IPL 2024

Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Pat Cummins, acquired for INR 20.5 crore, has engineered a turnaround for the team in IPL 2024. He played a pivotal role in instilling a winning mentality with a revamped approach after the franchise finished at the bottom of the points table last season.

The top order, particularly openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, have excelled with the bat this season. Head has accumulated 533 runs in 11 innings at a strike rate of 201.89, featuring one century and four half-centuries.

Similarly, Abhishek has scored 401 runs in 12 innings at a strike rate of 205.64, including two half-centuries. The bowling department has also made a significant impact, with T Natarajan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar claiming 15 and 11 wickets in 10 and 12 matches, respectively.

Captain Cummins has also contributed with 14 wickets and has proven to be a valuable lower-order batsman. Having previously led Australia to victory in the ICC WTC championship and the ODI World Cup last year, Cummins aims to steer SRH towards their second IPL trophy this season.
