Kavya Maran, the owner of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), was puzzled when Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) leg-spinner Karn Sharma managed to grab a sharp catch off his own bowling, dismissing Abdul Samad and exacerbating the Orange Army’s predicament.

The team led by Faf du Plessis is firmly in control and poised for victory at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Thursday, April 25th. Karn Sharma entered the attack in the eighth over and immediately made an impact by getting rid of Nitish Reddy. He then followed up with another wicket on the first ball of the 10th over.

The leg-spinner delivered a standard-length ball aimed at the leg stump. The right-handed batsman advanced down the track, intending to play the ball towards the leg side. However, he failed to reach the ball’s pitch in time, resulting in a lazy stroke played with a straight bat.

Kavya Maran was visibly displeased with Samad’s decision-making, especially considering the crucial juncture where SRH couldn’t afford to lose another wicket. Her expressions conveyed the entire narrative.

Karn Sharma predicted the ball’s path after his follow-through and adjusted his body to the right, executing a well-timed dive to complete the catch.

Watch the wicket right here:

Karn Sharma gave away only four runs in his second over, leaving his figures at 2-8 halfway through his spell. However, he faced a challenge from Pat Cummins in his third over and ended up conceding 15 runs.

Kavya Maran has experienced a whirlwind of emotions during the second innings

As one of the most fervent franchise owners in the entire league, Kavya Maran actively participates in all aspects related to SRH, from auctions to matches.

Kavya Maran appeared notably subdued during the first innings as the SRH bowling unit allowed 206 runs. The early dismissal of Travis Head in the run chase further compounded the situation.

Her spirits lifted when Abhishek Sharma performed well during the powerplay, but since then, luck has not been on her or SRH’s side. Following Abdul Samad’s dismissal in the 10th over, SRH’s position worsened as they slumped to 85-6.
