Australian cricketer Steve Smith showed his comeback in the BBL 2024-25 season by smashing his fifth T20 ton in the first match. This brilliant feat has come as a result of his stellar performance during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series in the 2024-25 season. After not featuring in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 squad, Smith displayed his effectiveness as an opener against the Perth Scorchers in the match between the Sydney Sixers at the SCG.
The crowd was struck by seeing the unblemished and explosive innings of 121 runs played by Smith and made them remember his brilliance. Indeed, this century can attest to his effort and perseverance in the sporting activities.
The SCG, which saw the Australian team recently create history by winning the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 3-1 for the first time in a decade, saw the masterclass once again from Smith. His performance has been displayed in the following matches and becomes a precedent for other BBL players of the season.

This will be a short BBL season for Steve Smith, as CA will only permit him to play three games. Smith notably briefly played for BBL side before he will head to UAE to join the Australian team for the pre-tour camp. The camp is set to prepare the duo for the upcoming two-Test series in Sri Lanka that is set to be staged in Sri Lanka.
Smith will captain the Australian side in the test since their usual skipper, Pat Cummins, decided to take a break after the Aussies qualified for the WTC 2023-25 final. As for Cummins, Smith will assume the leadership mantle of the Test team while they are in Sri Lanka.
