KL Rahul pulled off a sharp low catch as Washington Sundar dismissed Ollie Pope on Day 3 of the fourth Test between India and England at Old Trafford, Manchester, on Friday, July 25. The wicket ended a 145-run third-wicket stand between Pope and Joe Root. Pope was dismissed for 71 off 128 deliveries, including seven boundaries.
The breakthrough came in the 77th over of England’s first innings, just three overs after lunch. Sundar delivered a flighted ball that drifted in towards Pope. Attempting a drive, Pope edged it as the ball held its line, and Rahul took a low catch at first slip. Pope looked visibly disappointed after falling short of a well-earned century.

England Take Control As Root And Pope Build Dominant Stand In 4th Test
A composed and efficient batting effort by Joe Root and Ollie Pope has placed England firmly in control during the fourth Test against India. At the time of reporting, the hosts were 348/3, with Root unbeaten on 76 off 132 balls and Harry Brook on 2 off 7 deliveries.
Earlier on Day 2, England openers Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley led the charge with impressive knocks of 94 off 100 and 84 off 113 balls, respectively, sharing a 166-run opening stand. India, who were put in to bat first, were bowled out for 358 in their first innings.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sai Sudharsan, and Rishabh Pant contributed with valuable half-centuries, while KL Rahul and Shardul Thakur chipped in with scores in the 40s. Washington Sundar also added a handy 27 runs. For England, captain Ben Stokes was the pick of the bowlers, claiming a five-wicket haul, with Jofra Archer providing strong support by taking three wickets.
