Suryakumar Yadav approaches the forthcoming fixture with considerable confidence, having produced an outstanding unbeaten 84 off 49 deliveries in Indiaโs tournament opener against the USA on February 7 in Mumbai. His innings, comprising 10 fours and four sixes, guided the Men in Blue to a competitive total of 161.
In defence of the target, Indiaโs bowling unit delivered a disciplined and clinical performance to restrict the USA to 132, thereby securing a comprehensive 29-run victory. Suryakumar was subsequently adjudged the Player of the Match for his exemplary contribution.
Experience Of Suryakumar And Hardik Boosts India
As India and Namibia gear up for their 18th match of the T20 World Cup 2026, the two teams have crossed paths only once before in T20 internationals. Their lone meeting came during the 2021 T20 World Cup at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Opting to bat first, Namibia managed 132/8 in their allotted 20 overs. Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin led the bowling effort with three wickets apiece, while Jasprit Bumrah added two to his tally. Hardik Pandya did not bowl in that fixture.
Chasing the target, Rohit Sharma struck 56 off 37 deliveries and KL Rahul remained unbeaten on 54 from 36 balls. Suryakumar Yadav also contributed an unbeaten 25 off 19 as India cruised to a nine-wicket win with 28 balls remaining.
