On Monday, June 17, during India’s practice session in Bridgetown, Barbados, Suryakumar Yadav, the best T20I batsman in the world, almost shattered completely. This was when things got out of hand when the star hit his hand while facing some deliveries from net bowlers, thereby suggesting that he has slightly injured himself ahead of the 2024 Super 8 T20 World Cup.

So much so, considering how important he is to the Indian cricket campaign, this becomes a source of worry. India, led by Rohit Sharma, will play Australia, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan in the Super 8s in an attempt to advance to the semifinals. On June 20, they play Afghanistan in Barbados in their first game.

Yadav is expected to perform well in the competition since India depends on him. As a result, the team expects an enhanced performance from him and is optimistic that he can quickly recover in time for these crucial matches. India will face Australia first on June 22 before Bangladesh comes in a couple of days later.

Suryakumar Yadav gets a blow to the hand while batting in the nets ahead of the Super 8s:

Team India faced a major injury scare on Monday (June 17), when star batter Suryakumar Yadav was struck in the hand.

When confronting a throw-down in the nets, the top-ranked T20I batsman in the world took the hit. Thankfully, he was able to quickly return to batting after the physiotherapist used magic spray on his arm. For him to play in the Super 8s in the current ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, India would be hoping that the injury is not significant.

India would hope that Suryakumar Yadav is fully healthy for the game, as there are still over two days until their first Super 8s match. In India’s match against the USA, Suryakumar was the most effective batsman after Saurabh Netravalkar injured the top order. In New York, the top batsman scored a tenacious fifty runs to aid India in chasing a challenging total.
