The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a light-hearted moment from the Indian dressing room during the rain delay in the first ODI between India and Afghanistan in Dharamsala on June 13. The match was scheduled to begin at 1:30 PM IST, but steady rain delayed the start, leaving players and fans waiting while officials closely monitored the weather conditions at the venue.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, the BCCI posted a video from inside the dressing room, where Indian players were seen making the most of the unexpected break as they awaited further updates on the match situation. In the video shared by the BCCI, several Indian players were spotted playing a gully cricket-style game inside the dressing room, including captain Shubman Gill, vice-captain Shreyas Iyer, and former captain Rohit Sharma.
Meanwhile, head coach Gautam Gambhir was seen relaxing and enjoying the fun atmosphere inside the dressing room.
“Why should a rain delay stop the fun? A peek inside the #TeamIndia dressing room as the rain comes down in Dharamshala,” the BCCI captioned the post where the cricketers were seen enjoying some leisure time in the dressing room at the HPCA Stadium.

BCCI Confirms 25-Over Contest After Rain Delay In Dharamsala
After a lengthy delay, fans finally received good news as the Board of Control for Cricket in India confirmed that play would restart at 5:45 PM. The game was reduced to 25 overs per side, with both teams getting a five-over powerplay.
Meanwhile, India handed debut caps to youngsters Gurnoor Brar and Harsh Dubey, with senior batter KL Rahul presenting the caps. India skipper Shubman Gill won the important toss and chose to bowl first.
Despite the rain interruption, India will look to make a strong start to the ODI series. The game also offers a valuable chance for several young players to showcase their talent, especially with a few senior stars missing due to injuries and workload management.
