The Indian cricketers enjoyed themselves during a fun-filled headshot session ahead of the five-Test series against England, beginning on Friday, June 20, at Headingley in Leeds. The series also signals the beginning of the 2025–27 World Test Championship cycle for both teams.

On Tuesday, June 17, Team India’s official Instagram handle shared a behind-the-scenes video from the shoot, capturing players in a cheerful mood, laughing and enjoying the light-hearted moments together.

In their absence, young batter Shubman Gill has been handed the captaincy, with Rishabh Pant appointed as his vice-captain.

India Favoured As Favourites For 2025 Test Series By Former England Spinner

Former England spinner Monty Panesar has expressed his support for Team India ahead of the upcoming five-match Test series against England. In a conversation with ANI, the 43-year-old stated:

“Well, I think India has an advantage because they have players who have played County Cricket. I think India are favorites to win and I think they will probably win 2-0. But the key is going to be how they take on the seaming conditions. But also, there is gonna be a lot of hard work. If there are green pitches, I think England are favorites, but if there are flat pitches, I think India has got a chance of winning.”

Here is Team India’s lineup for the five-match Test series against England:

Shubman Gill (c), Rishabh Pant (vc & wk),  Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Ravindra Jadeja, Dhruv Jurel (wk),Jasprit Bumrah, Karun Nair, Nitish Reddy, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Akash Deep, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh.
