Team India have started their training for the upcoming three-match Test series against South Africa, slated to begin on December 26 in Centurion.

In a video shared by the BCCI on their social media, the players – Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and Cheteshwar Pujara looked in good touch as India look to win the Test series in South Africa for the first time in 29 years.

“TeamIndia had an intense nets session at SuperSport Park in the build up to the first #SAvIND Test,” BCCI captioned the post while sharing.

On the other hand, Team India’s Test captain Virat Kohli was also seen talking to the head coach Rahul Dravid where they were discussing his batting and the bounce that will be offered on South African wickets.

Meanwhile, former India cricketer Saba Karim stated that Virat Kohli is enjoying his training sessions which means he has left the controversies behind and will be in good form to lead the team as well.

His comments came as Kohli had a public fallout with BCCI President Sourav Ganguly over his sacking as ODI captain recently. While Rohit Sharma has been appointed as the new captain, Ganguly has said that he had a discussion with Kohli, which Kohli has denied in the press conference.

Notably, Virat Kohli has a great record in South Africa where he has scored 558 runs in five matches which came at an average of 55.80, including two centuries as well. Speaking to India News, Saba Karim said:

“It seems a burden has been removed from Virat Kohli’s head. He can play with an open mind now, he can revive his Test career afresh. The expectation is that he will dish out performances like he was doing two years back.”

He further added:

“If he bats with an open mind and approach, he can repeat those performances. I have full belief that the form he has shown in the practice sessions, the same form will be seen in the match as well.”
