A heated altercation broke out between a bowler and a batter during the Bangladesh Emerging vs South Africa Emerging match, held in Dhaka on Wednesday, May 28. The incident involved Ripon Mondol from Bangladesh Emerging and Tshepo Ntuli from South Africa Emerging.
After Ripon struck a six off Ntuli’s bowling, the two exchanged intense looks as Ripon made his way to his batting partner. Ntuli then aggressively approached Ripon, leading to a physical confrontation where both players pushed each other. Ntuli even attempted to remove Ripon’s helmet before an umpire stepped in.
However, Ntuli lunged at Ripon again, forcing umpires and other players to intervene and separate them to end the fight.
“This is extreme, this is unacceptable. Normally, we see verbal altercations in a cricket field but we don’t often see a scuffle. Ntuli struck Ripon’s helmet at one point,” one of the on-air commentators said (via ESPN Cricinfo).
