[WATCH]- Tim Robinson Takes Brilliant Catch As Suryakumar Yadav Departs For 32

New Zealand fielder Tim Robinson produced a moment of brilliance to dismiss India captain Suryakumar Yadav during the first T20I of the five-match series on Wednesday, January 21, at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur. The breakthrough came on the fourth delivery of the 11th over of India’s innings.

Mitchell Santner sent down a full ball targeting the stumps, prompting Suryakumar to step out in an attempt to clear long-on. The shot, however, was mistimed, and Robinson sprinted in before diving full length to complete a superb catch. You can watch the video here:

The right-hander made a useful contribution, compiling 32 runs from 22 deliveries with the help of four boundaries and a six. His dismissal left the Men in Blue at 126/3 in 10.4 overs.

Suryakumar Yadav and Abhishek Sharma Depart In Quick Succession After 99-Run Stand

Put in to bat first, India made a shaky start as opener Sanju Samson was dismissed for 10 off seven deliveries in the second over by Kyle Jamieson. Their troubles continued in the next over when Ishan Kishan, playing his comeback game, failed to make a telling contribution and was sent back by Jacob Duffy after scoring eight from five balls.

India captain Suryakumar Yadav then walked out to join Abhishek Sharma, and the duo counterattacked to lift the scoring rate as the Men in Blue ended the powerplay at 68/2. In the eighth over, Abhishek brought up his seventh T20 fifty, reaching the landmark in a rapid 22 balls.

The pair stitched together a 99-run stand for the third wicket off just 47 deliveries before Suryakumar was dismissed in the 11th over for 32 off 22 balls. Abhishek followed soon after, departing in the next over after a sensational 84 from 35 deliveries, an innings studded with five boundaries and eight sixes.

At the time of writing, India were placed at 154/4 after 13 overs, with Hardik Pandya on seven and Shivam Dube on three at the crease.
