The marquee Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are gearing up for the upcoming IPL season. The franchise under the leadership of Virat Kohli will be once again chasing their maiden IPL trophy. Since arriving in the UAE, the entire RCB squad has been sweating it out under the watchful eyes of coaches Simon Katich and Mike Hesson.
Each day we see a brand-new video of their practice sessions in which players are seen preparing with match intensity. Leading the charge in the net sessions of RCB is none other than the skipper. RCB skipper Kohli is slowly getting into his groove as with each passing day wee see him execute his trademark shots in the nets against his bowlers with unmatchable hunger and intensity.

In the latest video, Kohli spoke about how it took him time to again get used to batting. Kohli admitted that batting after 5 months sure feels a bit different as it takes time to get into that zone which cricketers are ahead of a big season. Now with him and the RCB side getting more used to the wickets in the UAE, they are looking forward to stepping on the field again.
Furthermore, the RCB captain also admitted that the shoulders of the players were initially sore when they commenced their training after a long lay-off from the game. Also, the management is focusing on not overburdening the players during the drills as it may lead to an injury.
“The first few days, which is for getting your eye in, getting back into the thick of things, after five months, it’s a bit different to try and get back in the frame of mind which you usually want to be in. It takes a bit of time, so heading into these sessions now where we’re batting mostly in the middle with hitting angles in the field and understanding the pace of the wicket and all those things. I’m very happy with how the team is shaping up”, Kohli said in a video uploaded by RCB.

“Few shoulders were sore initially because we after months and suddenly you realise that a few muscles are asleep so I think the guys are getting back into the intensity levels that you want. We don’t want to push anyone a niggle or an injury’ we understand it’s been a while away from the game”, Kohli said.
Meanwhile, Kohli and his men will take on the Sunrisers Hyderabad on September 21 in Abu Dhabi. The IPL 2020 kicks off from September 19 as the defending champs Mumbai Indian will take on last year finalists the Chennai Super Kings.
