[WATCH] Umpire Directs Jadeja To Remove Tape From Bowling Hand In IND vs AUS 2025 Semifinal

Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was instructed by the umpires to remove the tape from his bowling hand during the ongoing 2025 Champions Trophy semifinal between India and Australia on Tuesday, March 4, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Jadeja had injured his left hand, which was taped. However, since it was his bowling hand, the umpire asked him to remove the tape. Following the umpire’s instructions, Jadeja was seen removing the tape before resuming his bowling.

The incident took place before the 19th over, when Jadeja was about to bowl. Umpire Richard Illingworth was seen conversing with him, while Indian captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli also joined the discussion. You can watch the video here:

Ravindra Jadeja delivers standout performance with the ball in the 2025 Champions Trophy semifinal

Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja has been exceptional with the ball for India in the ongoing 2025 Champions Trophy semifinal against Australia. Given Australia’s lineup of right-handed batters, Jadeja was expected to play a crucial role with the ball and provide key breakthroughs for his team.

The 36-year-old struck twice as Australia batted first. He first dismissed Marnus Labuschagne, trapping him leg before for 29, as he was batting well with 2 fours and a six off 36 balls, building a solid innings before his dismissal.

Jadeja then returned to claim the wicket of wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis, who scored 11 runs off 12 balls, and had been in good form in the tournament. Additionally, Jadeja maintained pressure with tight, accurate bowling, delivering his overs swiftly and restricting easy runs in the middle overs.

At the time of writing, Ravindra Jadeja’s figures stood at 2/40 from eight overs, with an economy rate of 5.00, including a maiden over. Australia were 195/4 after 36 overs, struggling to accelerate.
