India opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi came out firing in the chase against Zimbabwe in the opening T20I in Harare. Chasing a modest target of 126 after the hosts posted 125/7, the youngster took the attack to left-arm pacer Richard Ngarava.
Suryavanshi launched his assault in the second over of the innings. Ngarava began with a short delivery, but the 15-year-old opener was quick to pounce, pulling it over deep backward square leg for a towering six.
The Zimbabwe pacer then pitched one up, only for Suryavanshi to produce a perfectly timed cover drive that raced to the boundary. Ngarava tried shortening his length on the next ball, but the left-hander was ready once again, smashing another maximum over long-off to cap off a costly over.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi provided India with a blistering start, while fellow opener Abhishek Sharma struggled to find his rhythm. Abhishek managed just one run from eight deliveries before edging Blessing Muzarabani to third man in the third over.
At the end of the powerplay, India were cruising at 66/1, with Suryavanshi unbeaten on 48 off 17 ballsand Ishan Kishan batting on 16 off 11.

Earlier in the match, Vaibhav Suryavanshi impressed with his fielding by taking a sharp catch to dismiss Ben Curran in the fourth over of Zimbabweโs innings. Prince Yadav bowled a back-of-a-length delivery, and Curran attempted a pull shot but failed to time it properly.
Stationed at mid-wicket, Suryavanshi judged the chance well and completed a safe catch to send the left-hander back.

Zimbabwe were unable to post a daunting total, with Wessly Madhevere top-scoring with 39 off 34 balls. Tadiwanashe Marumani chipped in with an unbeaten 27 from 20 deliveries to help the hosts reach a competitive score.
For India, Mayank Yadav and Prince Yadav starred with the ball, picking up two wickets each, while Shivam Dube and Ravi Bishnoi claimed one wicket apiece.
