India’s Vaibhav Suryavanshi made an immediate impact in the field, taking a sharp catch to dismiss Brian Bennett off the very first ball of Zimbabwe’s innings in the third and final T20I at the Harare Sports Club on Sunday, July 26.
Mayank Yadav started with a fiery 147 km/h back-of-a-length delivery that climbed sharply and moved away from the right-hander. Bennett poked at it with hard hands, only to edge the ball to first slip, where Suryavanshi completed a safe catch to give India the perfect start.

Brian Bennett was dismissed for a golden duck, leaving Zimbabwe at 0/1 after just one delivery. Notably, it was the second time in the series that Mayank Yadav had removed Bennett with the opening ball of the innings.
At the time of writing, Zimbabwe were 27/1 after three overs, with Ben Curran unbeaten on 7 off 6 balls and Dion Myers batting on 13 off 12. The hosts still required 166 runs to pull off the chase.

Earlier in the innings, India suffered an early setback after electing to bat first, with Abhishek Sharma falling for just two runs. Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Ishan Kishan then rebuilt the innings with a fluent 75-run partnership off 50 balls for the second wicket. Kishan chipped in with 29 off 26 deliveries, striking four boundaries.
Suryavanshi went on to register his second T20I half-century before being dismissed for a superb 81 off 49 balls, an innings featuring eight fours and four sixes. Captain Shreyas Iyer made 27 off 18 deliveries but was unable to convert his start into a bigger score.
Rinku Singh and Tilak Varma added valuable late runs to give India a strong finish. Rinku smashed 25 off 14 balls, including two fours and a six, while Tilak remained unbeaten on 11 from nine deliveries as India posted 192/5 in their 20 overs. Brad Evans was Zimbabwe’s standout bowler, claiming 2/41 in his four-over spell.
