[WATCH] Video Claims Virat Kohli’s Bat Price At The Greg Chappell Cricket Centre

A video featuring journalist Norman Kochannek suggests that the MRF bat used by Indian cricket star Virat Kohli is priced at around ₹1.64 lakh at the Greg Chappell Cricket Centre in Australia.

Kohli is currently in Australia for the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy, set to start on Friday, November 22, in Perth. As the series approaches, Kohli’s presence has sparked excitement across the country, with major newspapers covering his arrival for the Test series.

In the video shared on Kochannek’s Instagram, he is seen visiting the Greg Chappell Cricket Centre, where he briefly reviews Kohli’s bat, which is available for purchase at the center. Holding the bat, Kochannek comments:

“We are going to specifically look at Virat Kohli’s bat. The bat that Virat Kohli uses is on display here. It’s available to be purchased and that is of course an MRF bat. This bat has a short handle, around 2.9 ounces, probably a bit heavier his would be and it retails here for about ₹1.64 lakh (2,985 AUD).”

There is extra buzz surrounding Kohli’s visit to Australia, as the 36-year-old is likely to be playing in what could be his final Test series in the country. The right-handed batter boasts an impressive record in Australia, having scored 1,352 runs in 13 Tests at an average of 54.08, including six centuries and four fifties.

“He’s sure to have his moments, though hopefully not too many of them”- Travis Head on Virat Kohli

Australian opener Travis Head stated that the hosts anticipate Kohli will have his moments during the five-match Test series against India. He mentioned that their goal is to start strong against him and then try to limit his impact. Speaking to reporters before the opening Test in Perth, he said (as quoted by India Today):

“There’s not a series that you would play India and you not talk about Virat Kohli. No doubt that we’ll go through all the players and we’ve started this morning and just prepare the same way as we always do. We want to start well against him come the first morning, but he’s going to have his moments in the series and hopefully not too many of them.”

“He’s a world class player and over 5 Tests at some stage he’s probably going to play well, we understand that, we respect that, and, yeah, we just try our best to, to nullify that,” Head added.

Kohli has been facing a tough time with the bat recently. In 2024, he has managed only 250 runs from 12 Test innings, averaging 22.72, and has reached fifty just once.
